Maca contains high amounts of vitamins, minerals, and enzymes, all the essential amino acids to make a complete protein (maca has a whopping 14% protein content), and nearly 60 phytochemicals. The extraordinary health benefits of Maca are due to the way it promotes optimal functioning of the hypothalamus and pituitary master glands. Maca contains unique alkaloids that stimulate the master glands, which in turn improves the overall functioning of the endocrine system.

Yacon works as a prebiotic due to it being comprised of long-chain complex sugars, which are not absorbed and digested in the same way as short-chain simple sugars. These long-chain sugars travel to the intestinal tract and provide food for the pro-biotic bacteria there, which work as part of our healthy digestive system. We all need probiotics to digest and assimilate food and thus gain nutrition. Prebiotics such as Yacon Syrup provide an optimal environment for probiotics to grow. Many people take anti-biotics (arguably too) frequently these days, meaning that our natural probiotics are constantly being run down. If you have good sources of prebiotic material in your diet, then you're going to be creating the optimal environment for the probiotic bacteria to repopulate and thrive. This is why Yacon Syrup is considered by many to be one of the healthiest sweeteners in the world.
The whole Yacon root is a distant relative of the sunflower. Its delicious edible tubers, which are low in calories, have a mild sweet flavour and an unusual moist, crunchy texture slightly reminiscent of freshly picked apple, pineapple and watermelon.
Yacon Syrup is negligible GI so great for diabetes; very low in fructose; natural and minimally processed; is also a prebiotic (good for the gut and immune system) and contains soluble fibre; lower in calories
Our favourite flavours are the Cacao and Raspberry, followed by the Coffee.

Pronounced loo-koo-ma, this exotic Peruvian fruit looks a little like a nashi pear crossed with a mango. It has a delicious creamy citrus flavour with a hint of maple and a dash of sweet potato (NZ kumara). It's sometimes called the "eggfruit" in English, due to the texture of the fruit's flesh, which is quite dry like a hard-boiled egg yolk. Our lucuma powder is made by drying the fruit at low temperatures to retain all their vital nutrients, then milling them into a superfine powder.
Lucuma is known by the local people of Peru as the "Gold of the Incas", and has been cherished for centuries, both as a staple food source, and a religious offering associated with fertility. Today, the fruit still plays a big part in contemporary Peruvian celebrations, and is the most popular flavour of ice cream in the country! The fruit is so well loved by the locals, there are even 26 villages named after it.

"A wonderful sweetener which has a glycemic index (GI) rating of 1, compared to glucose at 100. This Is my favourite sweetener for recommending to diabetics and those with blood sugar management issues, as it barely impacts blood sugar levels but is also a completely natural and whole sweetener unlike many other low calorie/low GI sweetener alternatives."
