These co-operatives set up by PARC (Palestinian Agricultural Relief Committees) provide a higher level of income for struggling Palestinian farmers, by exporting their Medjoul dates to fair trade organisations such as Trade Aid.

  • My partner keeps these in the fridge to make raw desserts. She tries to hide them at the back of the fridge, but I'm onto this technique, so covertly sneak a few out of the jar when she's not looking. Delicious!"

"Although I buy these with the intention of using them in raw desserts, I always just end up filling them with nut butter for a quick snack. My favourite way of eating them is to fill them up with almond butter, top them with crushed almonds, and sprinkle them with cinnamon."

  • Trade Aid are a New Zealand based not for profit organisation and share their profits with their producers. They are committed to raising the bar in fair trade standards and are a member of the World Fair Trade Organisation. Trading since 1973 they import beautiful food and craft from over 70 trading partners, representing hundreds of thousands of small farmers and artisans in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Pacific. Paying fair wages doesn’t necessarily mean higher costs to end customers - there are fewer “middle men” in the trading model, meaning more money makes its way to their producers.
